Construction and Repair
Details 611 First Street, Sanderson, Texas

This is the Living Room ceiling with the old sheetrock removed.
This is the West (sink) wall of the Kitchen facing the hill at the back.
I really think this space could be better utilized it everything were just torn out
and replaced.
This is the opposite wall (East) and shows where the cooktop
and built-in oven are. As I said, you can see that the house was once nice; but all
this is in bad repair now.
This is the stairwell down to the basement. It is located just to the South of
the built-in oven. The dark triangle you see on the lower right is the bottom of the
doorway into the back bedroom.
These are the old green fixtures in the bathroom. I like them and think they are worth keeping.
This is a curved stucco tub enclosure. The
darker material is some kind of old bathboard. There is access to the tub and sink plumbing from the front bedroom. The bathroom is directly over the
basement and has a concrete floor which I'm guessing is the formed concrete basement ceiling.
It wouldn't be major to tile the floor and walls.
This is the fireplace on the North wall of the Living Room. The mantle on the fireplace is also that burled wood. Old Mexican tiles. I'm told that the fireplace
works, but we haven't tried it.
This wall between the dining room and LR is the WORST problem in the house,
There was apparently a long-term neglected roof leak which caused extensive damage
to the wall and hardwood floor. This is where we started tearing out to find out
the extent of the damage (which is why the LR ceiling got torn out).
